Pattinson Cup 2016

The Pattinson Cup race started in Burnham at 0800 on 30/4/2016 in wonderful sunshine but little wind. The forecast for the day was light winds and possibly cold on the water, so the short course (48 miles) was set.

With the tides help yachts soon left the Crouch and headed up the Swin and as predicted sometimes there was wind, sometimes there wasn't wind, sometimes the wind came from one direction and sometimes from another. It looked at times as if getting round the NEG was going to be difficult but with a fairly lazy tide everyone got round and sped up on their passage down the Wallet. But once again the wind decided to switch of or change direction making for a slow passage at times.

Eventually everyone finished at Mersea, some with Kites up other hard on the wind but at least the sun was shining.
