2023 EAORA Offshore Regatta Results

Following the announcement of the EAORA Offshore Regatta results one competitor, Mr E Harrison of yacht Entropy contended those results by requesting a redress hearing.

The request and the protest committee's findings are attached here.

The Race Committee, who were not represented or called to the hearing, strongly disagrees with those findings and sought to have the hearing reopened under RRS 66.2 - the request is attached.   That request was refused by the protest committee chairman.

The results have been amended with the Race Committee's best effort interpretation of the Protest Committee's decision.  

Yachts in the Mercator race that did not have an IRC certificate have been removed from the results of the race which was run using a local handicapping system.

The Race Committee would like to apologise to the other competitors, especially those who's results are disadvantaged by this ruling.  Procedural errors on the part of the Race Committee have meant it's not possible to pursue this any further.  In part because any further avenue of appeal may have to be referred to the Belgian sailing authorities as the race finished in Belgian national waters.
